On different personality types and teams; in Micheal Swanwicks " Vacuum Flowers" there was a character called the Tetrad who had multiple personalities taken from the four mythical archetypes that always appear in successful teams in stories and legends; the leader, the mystic, the warrior, and the joker. They each had important roles in making a successful team;

1. The leader makes the hard decisions on what should be done.

2. The mystic provides wisdom, knowledge and experience, advising the leader.

3. The warrior gets stuff done, doing the hard and risky stuff the leader decides needs doing.

4. The joker mostly mucks around amusing everyone trying random stuff. However the random stuff sometimes pays off with unexpected discoveries, and it's the joker that diffuses tensions within the team and holds them all together.

IMHO most team building attempts forget about the joker, and make the big mistake of thinking the joker is a liability, not an asset.

You’ve an amazing writing style. I was talking to my wife about you and I told her you’re a technical professional but a human writer. You write like a human and your humour is subtle but so very much fun. Please never stop writing. You’re doing so great!
